Sarah ‘Bogi’ Lateiner spent around a year studying abroad in Hungary in high school. In Hungary, she adopted the nickname Bogi as it is the shortened name of Boglárka. After completing schooling, she attended Oberlin College to pursue Law & Society and Women’s Studies.

Career
After pursuing a Law degree, Bogi Lateiner decides to be an Automotive Technician and learn how to repair vehicles as she likes cars and vehicles. She studied at Universal Technical Institute and learned several things about vehicles and the automotive industry. Then she joined BMW factory training through a BMW STEP program.
She did training in the BMW factory and worked as a Dealer Technician. She maintains and repairs customer vehicles. Bogi worked there for around 7 years and gained years of experience in repairing cars. She loves to work as a technician and repair cars, but Bogi misses the interaction between customers and listening to feedback.
Also, her vision was to open her vehicle repair shop and offer career options to women who wanted to work as vehicle technicians and enter the automotive industry. This vision led her to open her first shop called “180 Degrees Automotive” in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2006. Through this shop, she repairs the cars and vehicles of clients.
Bogi has an women staff only and provides women-only monthly basic car care classes through this shop where women can learn car repairing and other things about the automotive industry. She educated women and provided learning and working opportunities for women of all ages, and explained how to step up in the automotive industry and be an automotive technician.
Apart from that, Bogi Lateiner also opened a namesake shop where newbies and experts come together and share their knowledge and take knowledge from others. The learning opportunities will increase, and people can collaborate in the real world. Bogi has spoken to and consulted several businesses all over the country.
She has taught several women about vehicle repair and how to step up in the automotive industry. There was a big gender gap in the industry as it was male-dominated, but now women are also taking steps into the automotive industry. Bogi Lateiner also runs Girl Gang Garage, where she provides mentorship programs to women.
